TJCCAA Preview Region 7
#1 Southwest TN. College Saluqis: Returning scorers AJ Nance, PG Emmanuel Cheers and adding Vincennes transfer and Sheffield H.S. grad Leon Martin 6-7, Outstanding well traveled big Nick Stiggers and a host of athletic wings who can flat out play.  The reigning champs might be better than last year.

#2 St. Catharine Patriots: A traditional power and a  solid program they add possible player of the year Brandon Russ.  A super athletic trransfer from D-2 JUCO Cincinatti State. Ironically St Catharine and Cincinatti have shared players before.

#3 Chattanooga State Tigers: Labrez Barber returns and is nationally ranked, but they already have a D-1 committ in Dominique Rouse.

#4 Motlow State Bucks: Second year Coach Steinburg has brought in one of the most highly recruited group of players that Motlow has seen.  Chemistry will be the issue and defections.  If they can stay together 6-10 DC native Dixon will shine along with transfer Tyree Evans.

#5 Columbia State Chargers: Coach Mongomery finally has the size and depth to maybe get that elusive region bid.  The problem may be that they are a year away.

#6 Volunteer State Pioneers: After losing several sophs and two vital freshmen to transfers and grades the Vols actually got better and bigger.  Transfer Lucas Jones leads a taller group into the season but the problem will be guard play against uptempo teams.

#7 Walters State Senators: Former CCB Campers Reggie Shaw and Sir Lester Martin will have to take on the leadership roles.  Both guys could come into their own and help  guide this young group to a higher spot.  But if the guard play is not improved they could struggle.

#8 Jackson State Generals: Athletic Reggie Bomar and CCB Camper transfer from Penn Valley Jarmel Reid give the Generals and athletic frontcourt but they are undersized and will have to use speed as a weapon.

#9 Simmons College: The only reason they are this low is because they are only in their second year.  But they are an exciting group and I wouldn't be surprised if they make a lot of teams regret letting them in the region.  DeShawn Pendleton and Rashad Johns will be pivotal with PG Derrick Warren as a spark.

Rounding out the bottom 4 will be #10 Roane State, #11 Dyersburg State, #12 Hiwassee and #13 Cleveland State.
