Class of 2011: Easily the deepest class in the last 25 years in Mississippi

1. Tyler Adams, 6'9 Center from Brandon High - Best big man to come along in years, and he's just a sophomore. I personally witnessed Tyler in several games and he dominated even on a off night (for him). He is unstoppable in the paint, and if he develops a 10 - 12 foot shot, he will be scary. My pick for most impact player from Mississippi on the 2009 summer circuit.

2. LaQuinton Ross, 6'8 Wing from Murrah High - Has the best offensive skills in the class with range from 3 pointer and nice baseline moves as well. Improving on defense which is saying something. Scary to see what he will look like with 2 more years of high school experience.

3. Rodney Hood, 6'7 Point Guard from Meridian High - good skills at the 1 for someone who's 6'7, shooting skills keep defenses honest and also gives him space to slash to the goal. Tremendous athlete, even better student as his mom is also the school principal. Has a demanding coach who will only make him better.

4. Marquavious "Deville" Smith, 6'1 guard from Callaway High - probably the most "college" ready right now out of this class, he is that smooth. Only 6'1 he probably leads his team in dunks. Nice shooting touch and ice in his veins during crunch time. A pressure player who wants the ball in crunch time.

5. Michael Ammons, 6'7 Guard from Vicksburg High - did not play until mid season due to foot injury, but easy to tell the skills are there. Mike is built like a forward but has a guard's game. Solid shooter from 3 pointer with good, not great, first step. Can also taylor his game to the inside where he is just as dangerous. Must get to the level of playing consistently to become one of the top two players in the state, regardless of class. High D1 prospect.

Others to watch: LeAntwan Luckett, 6'5 Guard from Ridgeland High, Johnny O'Bryant, 6'9 Center from Cleveland East Side, LaDarrius White, 6'4 Guard from McComb, Daniel Grieves, 6'7 Wing from St. Stanislaus, Jarvis Summers, 6'0 Guard from Provine High, and Donovan Ross, 6'5 forward from Ridgeland High.

I welcome any comments or complaints. Remember, this is one person's opinion, but I can say that I witnessed each person on my list this season either in AAU or High School competition.
