SIP EXPOSURE CAMP REPORT April 12th, 2008
Players and short evals
Blue Team
Michael Chinn-6-4-John Ehret (New Orleans) Plays the 3/4 effectively.  Solid handle, has about a 6-7 wingspan.  Athletic. Very good JUCO prospect
Donavan Murdock 6-4 John Ehret (New Orleans) Long lefty with a nice 3 point shot.  Can play the 2/3. Very good JUCO/NAIA prospect
Michael Halford 6-3 St. Andrew’s Episcopal (Jackson, Miss.) 3.6 ACT 28  Shooter with a strong handle and the ability to play the 1.  Excellent 2 sport star with considerable D-1 potential.
Davarus Bell 6-6 Meridian College Freshman (Miss.) An intriguing prospect who potentially has all years of eligibility although listed on the team roster, he did not enroll in 12 units (grey shirt).  Strong handle, 6-8 wingspan, with the right attitude considerable D-1 prospect. (Has video on the Player's List link at the top of this page)
Reginald Hill 5-10  Gateway Christian Sr. (Memphis) Nice range on his shot and a solid handle.  His current drawback is size.  An excellent prospect for a JUCO program where he can redshirt and weight train for a year.  Will be a very good guard after a red shirt year.

Black Team
LV Sumler Hinds CC (Miss.) 6-2 Freshman 30credits Full Qualifier out of high school.  Great build and solid defender with solid form on his jumper.  Could transfer but should remain JUCO to increase lead guard skills and he will garner D-1 attention.
Brandon Harper Hinds CC (Miss) 6-3 Soph 54 units, A very athletic NAIA prospect who would be undersized as a 4 but is explosive enough to play with bigger players.  A definite player for an NAIA that can also shoot the midrange shot.
Terrell Arnold Hinds CC (MIss) 6-3 Fresh  24 units, Has a slow release but can flatout shoot it.  Very athletic.  In the right league he garners considerable D-1 interest.
Justin Grace Ridgeland H.S. (Miss) 5-9, Can be offered by a college at any level and compete.  A very complete lead guard although undersized, very, very good prospect with definite D-1 talent. (Has video on the Class of 2008 page of this site)
Johnny Evans Starkville (MIss) c/o 07 5-7, Like Justin he is an excellent lead guard who can also shoot the three.  If he isn't offered by a JUCO should consider walking on at a four year (Great student).  He will take someone's spot. (Has video on the Player's List link on the top page of this site)

Red Team
Andre Holliday 6-0 Holmes CC Freshman, Great build and decent ball handler. Can shoot the ball and should have all eligibility remaining.  A very good JUCO prospect right now.
John Love 5-9  Jesuit H.S. (New Orleans) Senior GPA 3.2 ACT 22, A pleasant surprise.  Could be a good backup point for a JUCO or NAIA team.
Darrell Williams Archbishop Rummel H.S. (New Orleans) Senior GPA 3.0 ACT 20, Same as John these two could make a lightning fast backcourt, but they would be small.  Both are physically strong however and both play the passing lanes very well.

Green Team
Ron Sampson 6-3 Class of 2007 (Memphis) A two sport star in high school who was offered a football scholarship and a hoops offer from Mississippi Valley, Ron had the misfortune of being shot in the leg.  He has recovered but isn't a hundred percent.  But he still has the ability to score from deep and handle the rock.  If he recovers and continues to work out he will be a steal for a JUCO this year.
Kevin Horton  6-2  Copiah Lincoln Soph.  54 units has three years of hoops eligibility remaining.  Kevin did not have a strong showcase but after watching film he shows considerable skill as a PG and scorer.  His team did not get cohesive which hurt but Kevin has a great handle and big body.  If he transfers he could walk on at a 4 year school, or in the right system he could play at an NAIA to D-2.
601-750-4545
Alex Phillips  6-8 (Texas) Not very polished but very agile and athletic.  A great JUCO find who spent time at New Mexico Mil. Institute but due to family hardships had to leave the school.  Should be able to petition for his year and move on.  The military setting was not good for him and with family issues he should be granted a waiver.
Travis Nathan 6-0 John Ehret (New Orleans) GPA 2.8 ACT 16, Travis is a ball player.  Very savvy and a solid lead guard.  His body is JUCO ready and he can score or play PG.  An excellent JUCO prospect and with his teammates they would be a good package.
Derrick Hamilton 6-3 (Bartlett H.S. Tennessee) Has improved his handle and tenacity since last fall.  Trains with Velocity sports and local Memphis trainers.  He is has developed into a solid player.  I think he could deliver steady minutes in the TJCCAA this season as he adds strength.  He has great moments though. (Video on the 2008 section of this site.)

White Team
Jerrett Harris 6-2 PG class of 07 JUCO soph-signed with Livingstone College (CIAA) but his transcripts weren't released from the JUCO.  Could be a breakout D-1 PG in the mold of a Chauncey Billups.  Still a very good find after the year off.  He has video under the JUCO section of this site
Kenneth 'Scooter' Maye 6-0 PG Idaho State D-1 transfer.  Should have two years left, but may need to petition, but is a great defensive PG prospect for the Big Sky, WCC or other low-mid major D-1's.  He has video under the JUCO section of this site.
Tinsley Cowan 6-4 class of 07 Provine (MS) Big body post with an above average post game.  An excellent D-2 to NAIA player who can board like crazy and score once he is in the post.
Kyle David Sinclair 6-9 (Texas) Juco Soph.  Played with a heavily lacerated finger in the showcase. Had a tough sophomore year but shouldn't have.  Sinclair is definitely a D-1 player.  He can face up and shoot, has great hands and is agile. Can handle the ball and with a touch more explosiveness and strength could be a high major guy.
