Results for the Game of the Week:

Istrouma 68 OT
The Roux’s #1 in c/o 2008 Ledrick Eackles’ scored 28 points but could not top district 6-4A rival Istrouma High. The Indians took a 7 point first quarter lead and stayed in front most of the game. The Broncos tied the game in the fourth quarter and both team squandered chances to win in regulation. In the overtime, Istrouma outscored the Broncos 9-5 behind big free throws down the stretch and good defensive play. C/O 2010 #7 Ronald Magee blocked two key Eackles’ shots to put the final statement on the game. Istrouma was led by C/O 2008 Josh Washington’s 19 points and Magee’s 15 points. Istrouma will now face The Roux’s #7 ranked Glen Oaks High Tuesday to decide the district champion.
Next week’s Game of the Week:
The Roux’s #1 and #2 teams battle in a playoff tune up game at Christian Life Academy Friday. #1 CLA will put its deep young team up against the fast paced and disciplined St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons. The Falcons should have the advantage speed wise while the Crusaders will have a definite size advantage.

Jeremy Ferguson (G) Port Allen
The Roux’s #7 in c/o 2008, led the Pelicans to two big district wins this week. Port Allen was looking for some answers after getting crushed in the Hall of Fame Game last Saturday by St. Thomas Aquinas. They found a spark in Ferguson who scored 24 points against Lutcher and 24 points in an overtime win against Plaquemine. His steady play has helped keep Port Allen in the lead in district 9-3A.

Ledrick Eackles Zachary- 60 points in two games while his team wins one and loses one.
