Notes: Jerrett has sat out this year to pay for transcripts at New Mexico Military Institute he will be available in the spring of 08 and by my estimations he will be one of the best PG’s available to any school at any level. He is an incredibly quick lefty PG with a great b-ball IQ. This is a situation where a player just needs the opportunity. |

Three words, lefty point guard, this is a phrase that always stands out to college coaches. Add to this explosive and quick and you have the game of this kid who sat out a tough to watch year at New Mexico Military Institute. A mature kid with an above average handle and the ability to attack the full court press by himself, if Jerrett is able to catch up after a year off in the tough WJCAC, this year he will undoubtedly become one of the better guards in the conference, which says a lot. His strengths are his speed, handle, penetration, strength and body control. He needs to develop his midrange game because he will be called upon to score a lot of points for the new look Broncos who cleared the roster so they can challenge the WJCAC for middle of the pack status. He should make the Broncos better right away. Final Spring Camp Eval: After finally getting to videotape the kid and watching video, I have no problem saying that Jerrett Harris at 6-2, with his speed and ability to handle the rock, may be one of the best under the radar players left in JUCO at the PG spot. A lefty with a a much improved, smooth stroke off the dribble and the ability to direct the tempo of the game he is best suited for a run and gun program. Once again I hardly ever say that a kid needs to be recruited now, but I do with Jerrett Harris. He has one drawback, which isn’t really a drawback, he doesn’t have an off switch. He only has one gear and that is 5th gear. There are certain characteristics colleges look for in a PG and that is leadership and skill of course. I think he would be perfect in an uptempo offense and pressure defense college program. I also think he would be a solid mid-major PG. Stats 9.2 ppg, 4.4 rpgs, 4.5 apg, 2 spg (led NMMI team in steals, best on ball defender) |
