CCB Highlight Showcase Memphis
October 27th, 2007 The final event of the year was an understated affair featuring a handful of players who ventured across the Arkansas-Memphis bridge to compete in front of the CCB lens. As the week develops each player profile will be listed on the individual class pages and videos will be edited over the next few days.
Although the turnout was hindered by the 2 week time frame of shifting the event from Arkansas to Memphis, the event was still solid and introduced several fantastic talents from the class of 2010 as well as some players who proved that they are worth a few looks from colleges at all levels.
Aaron Cooper Pulaski c/o 2010 was having an amazing event until he hyperextended his leg. Kimani Shotwell also played up to his potential but struggled from deep. He stepped up on the defensive end. Charles Evans 6-6 didn't have many touches but he was able to show the range that will make him a valuable player this season.

Armani Burditt 6-6 Mitchell H.S. c/o 2008: Armani has to resolve a few off the court issues before tackling the upcoming high school season. But once he gets into the groove with Mitchell H.S. he could literally be one of the most explosive and gifted players in the city of Memphis this year. Aspects to improve in his game is his consistency on his jump shot. He can get to the basket at will and has the explosiveness to finish with authority. I think he will bring it all together and he literally has my vote as possibly the best class of 2008 camper I've had this year.
Jordan Weaver 6-2 Wynne H.S. c/o 2010: Jordan is named appropriately and rivals Aaron Cooper, Rashad Perkins and Jeverik Nelson as one of the most talented sophomores in the regions. A lefty wing who has range and athleticism and should help the Wynne H.S. team make another trip to the state championship. As he develops he will need to work on his handle to become a high major guard. Right now there is no doubt that he is a D-1 talent.
Ray Volner 6-4 Hoxie H.S. c/o 2008: Ray participated in the summer camp and did not standout but was solid. This time he showed his desire to develop and be a better basketball player. Ray showed explosiveness in dunking the basketball and has extended his range out beyond the arc and does not rely solely on his craftiness to get to the basket.
Gavin McDaniel 6-6 Wynne H.S. c/o 2008: Gavin is one of the best undersized posts I've seen. A miniature Tim Duncan, he has the best series of post moves in the low block. If he had an inch and a touch more explosiveness he would be a lock for a mid major program. As it stands I still think he is an interesting prospect in his ability to play the post. I don't think a small D-1 would be wrong for inquiring.
Jeff Drew II 6-7 Mills University H.S. c/o 2010: Jeff is only a touch of agressiveness away from exploding onto the national scene. He is an agile big that has great touch around the basket and rebounds very well. Once he begins to assert himself he will be a force. Quite frankly this class in Arkansas and Mississippi may have about ten nationally ranked guys by next year.
Trey Jackson 6-0 Arlington H.S. c/o 2008: Is showing consistent improvement and is now showing the ability to knock down the outside shot from deep and in the midrange. He has a strong handle and is very quick. His confidence should be sky high after the camp and if he can carry his improvements over into the season the addition of teammate 6-4 Paul Nichols a big bodied post player who has an old school game will make Arlington a much improved team. However a lack of a surrounding presence may leave these two on an island.
Daquan Bryant 6-3 and Joe Agee 5-4 Pulaski H.S. c/o 2010: Bryant and Agee, the names sound like an NBA duo and at the high school level it could be considered Shaq and Mighty Mouse. Bryant is a big, mobile (230) kid who stuffs the stats with his rebounding and Agee, who is small, but is the vocal leader needed at the PG spot make the 2010 Arkansas class stronger. Agee reminds me of Dee Brown.
Thatcher Cooperwood 6-2 Riverview H.S. c/o 2009: Has the bounce to shock anyone in the paint but needs to develop his all around game to really make noise but he is exciting to watch.
Corey Lawson 6-5 Jonesboro H.S. c/o 2008: Once Corey learns to take the game into his own hands he could develop into a D-1 shooting guard. He has a great stroke and has very good athleticism. His only problem is that he is too passive. If he can learn to use screens or move from the post to the perimeter within the offense he will surprise a lot of people.
